Adding a friend on Steam is super easy! Just launch the Steam client or go to the Steam website. Click on your username at the top and select 'Friends' from the dropdown menu. Then, click 'Add a Friend' and you can either send them your unique Friend Code or enter their Friend Code. If you know their Steam profile name, you can use the search function to find and add them that way too!
I always just use the Steam app on my phone to add friends. Go to the 'Friends' tab, tap the add friend icon, and either share your code with them or enter theirs. Super quick and I can do it while away from my PC!
Honestly, just ask them for their Steam profile link. Then click 'Add as Friend'. Done and done. No need to navigate through menus.
