I added a comspike to my ship by visiting a spaceport and chatting with a technician there. It really enhanced my communications during missions!
First, gather the necessary resources. Then, visit a ship technician at a space station or spaceport and select the comspike from the customization menu. Easy peasy, interstellar squeezy!
