Adding friends in GTA 5 Online is pretty simple! First, pause the game to bring up the main menu. Then navigate to the 'Friends' tab in the Social Club menu. Here, you can find your friend's Gamertag or PSN ID and send them a friend request. Once they accept, you're all set to cause some mayhem together!

Honestly, just shoot them a text asking for their username, then add them through the console's friend system. PSN for PlayStation, Xbox Live for Xbox. Way easier than navigating those in-game menus.

Quick tip: If you're both in the same session, you can go to the 'Online' menu, select 'Players', and add them directly from there. No need to fumble through the Social Club!
