Click on the multiplayer tab in the game. Then, select 'Invite Friends' and choose your buddy from your friends' list.

To add friends in State of Decay 2 on PC, you gotta be on the same platform, either Xbox Live or Steam. Just add them as friends through the platform's friend system, and then invite them to your game directly.

Easy peasy, just use the Xbox Game Bar. Press Win+G, go to Friends, and invite them from there. Happy zombie smashing!
