To add friends on Xbox 360 from Xbox One, go to the Xbox 360 guide by pressing the View and Menu buttons together on your Xbox One controller while in a backward-compatible game. Then, navigate to Friends and send a friend request.

You don't. The Xbox One uses a unified friends list, so just add them on Xbox One and they'll show up on your Xbox 360 too.
