If you're on iOS, add friends through Game Center. Just send them a request, and boom, sims buddies!

Android user here! You can add friends via Google Play Games. Just connect your account and send out those friend invites.

First-hand experience: Make sure your game is connected to Facebook, then you can add friends who are also playing the game by sending them a request. Easy peasy!
