Once a gym is controlled by your team, click on the gym, hit the add button, and select a Pokemon that can defend it. Boom, you're a gym defender!
You can add Pokemon to a gym by clicking on the gym and then on the plus sign. Just make sure you鈥檙e on the same team as the gym and choose a Pokemon that hasn't been to that specific gym before.
