It's easy! Just make sure your Roku and your Apple device are on the same Wi-Fi network. Then, swipe up or down on your Apple device to access Control Center, tap on 'Screen Mirroring,' and select your Roku device from the list.
I did this the other day. Make sure your software is updated on both devices, then just use the Screen Mirroring option! Easy peasy.
Just use HDMI and forget about AirPlay. It's more reliable.
