Unfortunately, there's no foolproof way to always get rare Pokemon cards since a lot of it comes down to chance. However, you can up your odds by buying booster packs from new sets, which usually have a guaranteed number of rare cards. Another strategy is to participate in Pokemon TCG tournaments or events, as they often have promo cards or prize packs that could include rares or even ultra-rare cards!

From my experience, sticking to booster boxes instead of individual packs gives you a better shot at scoring rares. The reason is, booster boxes have a set distribution of rare cards. While it's not a guarantee, it's definitely a more consistent way to add those elusive rares to your collection.

Hot take: just buy the singles you want. Chasing rares in packs is a money pit. Sure, opening packs is fun, but if you're after specific rare cards, buying them directly from reputable sites or local game stores is way more efficient.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
