Simple! Clean the old stuff with alcohol, then plop a small pea-sized dab of new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. Reassemble and you’re ready to game again!

Just a heads-up from personal experience: less is more. Too much paste can cause overheating. Small pea-sized glob in the middle, and you're golden!

First, make sure to disassemble your Xbox 360 and clean off any old thermal paste from the GPU and CPU using isopropyl alcohol. Then, apply a pea-sized amount of thermal paste directly on the center of each chip. Spread it evenly, if desired, or let the heatsink do the work when you reassemble the system. Voila!

You don't actually need to spread the thermal paste; the pressure from the heatsink will do the job. Just apply a small dot and reassemble.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
