How to Assign Someone in Fallout 4
EarningOunce路8 months agoAssigning someone in Fallout 4 is easy once you get the hang of it! First, you gotta be in workshop mode. Then, just walk up to the settler you wanna assign to something. You'll see a command menu pop up - press the button to command (depends on what you're playing on, so look for the prompt on the bottom of your screen). Aim at the thing you wanna assign them to, like a guard post, crops, or a store, and there should be an option to 'assign'. Boom, done! Your settler is now hard at work.

Quick tip: Make sure the thing you're trying to assign a settler to isn't already maxed out on workers. Some jobs can only have one settler, while farms can have more. If it's full, find something else for your settler to do!
Honestly, just mash buttons until it works. That's how I figured it out.
