How to Backup a Game on Steam
TrainingHost·7 months agoBacking up a game on Steam is super easy! Just open your Steam client and go to your Library. Right-click on the game you want to backup and select 'Backup Game Files...' from the dropdown menu. Then choose where you want to save the files, and voilà, you're all set!

I backed up my entire Steam library when I got a new PC. The official steam method took a while but felt like the safest option to not lose any game data. Totally worth it if you're switching computers or just want that extra peace of mind.
Just drag the game folder to a backup drive. Quick and dirty. Works for me everytime.
Honestly, I think cloud saves have made backing up games kinda obsolete. Most games automatically save your progress online, so you don't really need to backup locally anymore.
