Just use iCloud! Go to WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Chat Backup, then tap 'Back Up Now'. When setting up your new iPhone, restore from that iCloud backup.

I've done this a bunch of times. Backup via iCloud, then on the new phone, just restore from iCloud backup. Super easy!
