Becoming a MTG judge is a cool journey! First, get familiar with the rules by playing the game and reading the official rulebook. Then start studying the Comprehensive Rules and the Judging at Regular (JaR) document. You'll need to pass the Rules Advisor test before moving on to the Level 1 judge test, which involves both rules knowledge and policy understanding. Most importantly, get involved in your local MTG community! Volunteering at local events is a great way to gain experience and meet other judges who can mentor you.

Honestly, just play a lot and read the rules. You gotta know the game inside out, not just how to play but all the nitty-gritty rules that come up in tournaments. Find a local judge and ask to shadow them at events; hands-on experience is key.

It's mostly about who you know. Make connections, be active in your local MTG scene, and show you're dedicated. The tests and studying are important, but having a good network can really help guide you through the process.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
