In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, your character's skin tone isn't directly selectable at the beginning. Instead, it's determined by the way you answer Rover's questions on the train ride at the start. However, to get a darker skin tone initially, you can't. But, don't worry! You can get tanned! Spend some time in the sun during the summer months. Just make sure your character stays outside for a bit each day, and your skin tone will gradually get darker. Remember to wear a hat if you don't want to tan your face!

Honestly, it's a bit of a bummer, but New Leaf doesn't let you choose your skin color like in New Horizons. You gotta tan the old-fashioned way by soaking up those in-game rays!

Actually, in New Leaf, there's no slider or direct selection for skin color. Your best bet for a darker skin tone is to chill under the virtual sun. Hang outside during summer, and you'll notice your character getting a nice tan.

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
