I beat the Excavator with Ichiban's Job skills. Just keep up the damage, heal when necessary, and it鈥檒l go down eventually!
For the Excavator, focus on using fire-based attacks. Set it ablaze, and watch it melt away! Also, bring plenty of healing items, and don't forget to buff up your defense to tank those heavy hits.
It's all about the fire damage here. Have a character with fire-based skills, and hit it over and over. Easy peasy.
