I just spammed projectiles with Samus and dodged like crazy. Took some time, but it worked!

Use a spirit with fire resistance and equip strong attack power spirits. Fire resistance is gonna save your life.

Honestly, just keep hitting him in the tail and head whenever you can and grab those Pitfall items to stun him. Easy peasy.
