Honestly, the Slime God ain't that tough if you've prepped right. Have a solid set of wings or a grappling hook to stay mobile, and use the terrain to your advantage. I beat it first try using a mix of piercing and area-of-effect weapons to handle the minions quickly.
To take down the Slime God, you'll wanna gear up with the best armor and weapons you can get your hands on at your point in the game. I recommend using ranged or magic weapons because it lets you keep your distance. Also, make sure you have plenty of healing potions and build a decently sized arena with layers of platforms to dodge attacks. Buff potions like Ironskin and Regeneration will give you an edge. And remember, take out the smaller slimes first!
The Slime God is overrated. Just dodge and shoot. If you're dying, you're probably just not dodging enough.
