First up, pack some EMP or pulse grenades; these bad boys are like kryptonite to the Mechanist's robot army. Also, make sure you're wearing the beefiest armor you've got, cause you're gonna need it. A good strategy is to focus on taking out the smaller robots first, since they can swarm you easily while you're trying to focus on the big boss. And always keep moving to dodge the Mechanist's attacks. Lastly, don't forget to make use of the environment, like exploding barrels, to deal extra damage!

Hot take: Just sneak and use a high-damage sniper rifle. Aim for the Mechanist's head or power core. Might take a few tries, but patience is key. Who needs grenades when you've got stealth?
I beat the Mechanist by accident lol. I was messing around with the robotics perk, hacked one of the smaller bots, and it went ham on everything. Not the most heroic victory, but hey, a win's a win. So yeah, if you've got that perk, use it!
