To spare Toriel, keep selecting the Spare option in the Mercy menu until she eventually relents. Show her that you're determined not to fight!

Just keep selecting Spare over and over. Toriel will eventually realize you're not gonna harm her and will let you go. Simple as that!

When you fight Toriel, don't attack her. Keep choosing the Spare option. Eventually, she'll let you go.
