It's all about hitting the books. Focus on your studies from elementary school through university, major in something law-related, and get into law school. Once you graduate law school and pass the bar exam, you're in!
I got my character to be a lawyer by making sure they had high smarts, aced school, went to college (choose a good major like Criminal Justice!), and then law school. Passing the bar exam was the last step.
Just study hard, go to college, pick a major like Political Science, get into law school, graduate, pass the bar, and boom—lawyer!
