Hey, to play as Luigi in Super Mario Odyssey, you need to have the Luigi costume and hat! First, you have to collect 200 coins for the Luigi Cap and 150 coins for the Luigi Suit in the Crazy Cap store.

Just got the Luigi costume yesterday! It's available at the Crazy Cap store after you complete the game. Costs 350 coins in total for both the hat and the suit. Happy Luigi-ing!
You totally can鈥檛 become Luigi in Super Mario Odyssey. You can just dress up as him with the Luigi costume. No special powers or anything.
Unfortunately, you can't actually play as Luigi, but you can get his costume in the game. Head to the Crazy Cap store after beating the main story, and it's all yours for 350 coins.
