In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you automatically become the Resident Representative when you start a new game. Your first task? Setting up your tent! Remember, this title is exclusive to the first player who starts the game on a particular Nintendo Switch console. So, if you're planning to take the lead in your Animal Crossing adventure, make sure you're the one to initiate the new game.

Hot take: Being the Resident Rep is overrated. Enjoy the freedom of not having to decide where everyone lives. Embrace the chaos.

Actually, there's no way to change the Resident Representative once the game starts. If you're not the first player, you're out of luck. The game kinda locks this in, so choose wisely who starts the game!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
