How to Become Super Sonic in Sonic Mania
You need to collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds. Do that by completing the Special Stages, which are accessed through the giant rings hidden in each zone. Once you have all Emeralds, collect 50 rings, then press the jump button again while in mid-air. Voila, Super Sonic!

Collecting all 7 Chaos Emeralds and then gathering 50 rings will let you become Super Sonic. You can get the Emeralds by finding and completing the Secret Stages in the giant rings hidden around levels. Trust me, it's worth the hunt!
Basically, grab 50 rings and all Chaos Emeralds, then jump and press jump again. Boom, you're Super Sonic!
