Just press the throw escape button (usually L1/LB) at the right moment. It’s all about the timing, baby!

Blocking a grab isn't actually possible in Mortal Kombat X; you need to tech it by pressing the correct buttons just as your opponent grabs you. Try pressing throw escape (L1/LB) right when you think they're going to grab you.

To block a grab in Mortal Kombat X, you gotta tech it! When your opponent goes for a grab, quickly press the front punch (X on PS4, A on Xbox) and front kick (Circle on PS4, B on Xbox) simultaneously to break free. Timing's everything, so get your practice in!

Honestly, I never manage to tech those grabs. Just keep practicing!

If you're a Mortal Kombat player looking for extra coins or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Mortal Kombat essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
