You can also block someone through your privacy settings. Click the down arrow on the top-right, go to 'Settings & Privacy,' then 'Settings,' and find 'Blocking' on the left side. Enter their name or email and hit 'Block'.
Use the Facebook mobile app? Tap on their profile, hit the three dots, and find the 'Block' option. Easy peasy!
Blocking friends is mean. Just unfollow them instead!
