I've done this before. Grab a USB stick and Etcher, download the Batocera image, write it to the USB, stick it into your Deck, and boot while holding Volume Down. Bam, you're in Batocera!

First, you'll need a USB stick or SD card. Download the Batocera image from the official site, write it to your USB/SD using something like Etcher, then pop it into your Steam Deck. Restart the Deck while holding down the Volume Down button to enter the boot menu. Select your USB/SD and voila, Batocera should boot!
