To boot your Steam Deck into recovery mode, first, make sure your device is completely turned off. Then, hold down the volume down button and press the power button until the Steam logo appears. Let go of both buttons, and you should see the recovery options on your screen. It's like performing magic, but instead of pulling a rabbit out of a hat, you're diving into the techy guts of your Steam Deck!

Just press the volume down and power button at the same time when your Steam Deck is off. Hold them until you see the Steam logo. Bam! Welcome to recovery mode.

Honestly, I've done this, and while it sounds simple, make sure your Steam Deck is fully off before you try. If it's sleeping, you'll just wake it up instead of booting into recovery mode. True story!

Why bother? Just use it as it is. Recovery mode is overrated unless you really messed something up.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
