Easy peasy! Just hold the Pair button (and Eject if you have it) while turning it on. Wait for the second beep, and voila—low res mode!

To boot your Xbox Series S in low resolution mode, turn off the console by holding the Xbox button on the front for 10 seconds. Next, press and hold both the Pair button and the Eject button (or just the Pair button if your model doesn’t have an Eject button). Hold them until you hear the second power-up tone, and your console should start in low-resolution mode.

My Series S was acting weird, and this trick helped: hold the Pair button, turn it on, and release after the second beep. Works like a charm every time.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
