To break a Crimson Heart in Terraria, you'll need to first make your way to the Crimson biome, which is characterized by its red, gory blocks and creepy atmosphere. Look for the Crimson Hearts in the caves surrounded by Crimstone, which normal pickaxes can't break through. You'll have to either use bombs, dynamite, or a pickaxe that can mine through Crimstone, like the Deathbringer Pickaxe or stronger. Once you've gotten to the heart, just hit it with your weapon or another bomb. Breaking one can spawn a useful item, but watch out; breaking three will summon the boss, the Brain of Cthulhu!

Just use bombs. Faster, easier, and you don't have to wait till you get a fancy pickaxe. Plus, blowing stuff up is always fun in Terraria!
