To break background walls in Terraria, you're gonna need a hammer or explosives. Early game, a simple wooden hammer will do the trick. Just start from an edge or a hole in the wall and swing away! If you're in a hurry or feeling a bit destructive, bombs and dynamite are your go-to for making quick work of those walls. Just remember, you can't start breaking from the middle if it's all intact; edges or pre-existing gaps are your starting points.

Just hammer them! Any hammer will do, but remember, you gotta start from the edges or where there's already an opening.

Explosives for the win. Why bother hammering when you can blow things up? Works like a charm and saves time.

Honestly, just use a hammer. I see folks suggesting explosives, but that's overkill for something a simple tool can handle. Plus, you save resources and avoid unnecessary damage.
