Easy peasy! To break down items in Fallout 4 for those sweet crafting materials, just head to any crafting station. The most common one is the workbench you find in your settlements. Once there, approach it and you'll see an option to 'Craft.' Enter that menu, and you'll be able to scrap items in your inventory or any junk lying around your settlement for parts. Remember, not everything can be scrapped directly from your inventory, so drop it on the ground in your settlement and then scrap it in workshop mode.

Don鈥檛 forget, breaking down weapons and armor requires a specific crafting station! For weapons, use the Weapons Workbench, and for armor, head over to the Armor Workbench. This way, you get parts like steel, wood, and more specialized materials.

If you're a Fallout 4 player, you need to download the Playbite app!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:
