I'm telling you from experience, gather as much wood as you can before starting! Buy blueprints, lay them out, and fill them with your processed wood. It's a piece of cake once you get the hang of it.

Start with collecting wood and processing it into planks. Next, head to Wood R Us and buy some blueprints. Place those blueprints on your land and fill them with the wood. Voila! You've got a base.
