Don't sleep on Trainer Cards and Energy Cards! New players often go heavy on the Pokemon and forget these. Trainer Cards can really turn the tide of battle with their special abilities, and without the right Energy Cards, your Pokemon can't attack. So, balance is crucial. Think of your deck as a team where every card has a role that supports the others.

Start by choosing a main Pokemon to build your deck around, then add in supporting Pokemon that complement your main's attacks or abilities. Don't forget to include a good mix of Basic and Evolution cards. A healthy balance is key - around 15-20 Pokemon, 10-12 Energy Cards, and the rest being Trainer Cards to support your gameplay strategy. Remember, your deck needs to have exactly 60 cards!

Just pick your favorite Pokemon and fill the deck with as many cards of it as you can. Who cares about strategy when you're having fun with your favs?

After years of playing, I've learned it's not just about the Pokemon. You gotta think about your playstyle. Aggressive? Control? Defense? Pick cards that fit how YOU wanna play. And playtest, tweak, repeat. Nothing beats real battle experience to perfect that deck.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
