Just switch to the airship theme and start placing parts like cannons and moving platforms. Don't forget the cannons and Bob-ombs for some true ship action!

I made an awesome ship by using the airship level theme and adding stuff like burners, propellers, and Bullet Bills shooters. Worked out great!

To make a ship in Super Mario Maker, use the airship theme available with the Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World styles. Add wooden platforms, cannons, and propellers for that authentic ship feeling!
