How to build the robot workbench in Fallout 4
Building the robot workbench in Fallout 4 is pretty straightforward but you gotta make sure you’ve crossed off some essentials first. You absolutely need the Automatron DLC because that’s where the fun begins. Once you’ve got that, kick off the DLC’s quest line by listening to the Caravan Distress Call. This will lead you to the 'Mechanical Menace' quest. Finish this quest and you’ll snag the schematics for the workbench. Then, just head over to your settlement, open the workshop menu, and you should find the robot workbench under 'Special'. Remember, you’ll need some resources: aluminum, circuitry, fiber optics, gears, nuclear material, and screws. Gather all that, and you’re good to go. Build it and start crafting your own personal robot army!

Just a heads up, you actually need to complete the 'Mechanical Menace' quest to unlock the workbench. Can't skip that part. :P
idk why everyone makes a big deal out of this, just play through the Automatron quests and the game practically hands the workbench to you lol
