Buying ammo in War Thunder is pretty straightforward: go to the 'Modifications' tab of your vehicle and select the type of ammo you want. You can purchase it with Silver Lions (the in-game currency).
To buy ammo in War Thunder, you just need to go to the vehicle setup screen before a match, and there you'll find options to purchase ammo for your tanks, planes, or ships. Make sure you have enough Silver Lions!

You don't really 'buy' ammo in War Thunder, it gets deducted from your Silver Lions after battles automatically. Just make sure you stock up in your vehicle menu!
