Unfortunately, the Xbox app doesn't let you cancel Xbox Live. Just log in to your account on the Microsoft website and do it from there.

Use the Microsoft website, not the app. Go to account.microsoft.com, sign in, find your subscriptions, and cancel Xbox Live from there.
