I do this all the time! Just use the Roku app and the 'Play on Roku' feature鈥攏o fuss, no muss!
From your phone, ensure it's on the same WiFi as your Roku. Use the 'Screen Mirroring' option in your phone settings, then select your Roku device.
If you're using an Android, swipe down from the top of your screen, tap on 'Cast', and select your Roku. For iPhone, you need to use the AirPlay option.
