Honestly, I never actively hunt for them. Just run around the beach doing your usual stuff and BAM, a wild hermit crab appears when you least expect it. Really, the less you try, the more you catch.

Just walk on the beach at night. Those shells that start moving? Yeah, that's your hermit crab. No need to sneak, just go for it with your net!

I disagree with sneaking up on them. Just run up and swing your net. Works every time for me!

Catching a hermit crab in Animal Crossing is easier at night! Look for what seems like a shell on the beach, but surprise! Sometimes, it鈥檚 a hermit crab. Sneak up on it by holding A to ready your net, then let go when you're close enough. Happy crab hunting!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
