Catching a Mahi Mahi in Animal Crossing is all about timing and location! These elusive fish only hang out by the pier, and you gotta fish during the right months: May to October in the Northern Hemisphere and November to April in the Southern Hemisphere. Make sure you’re stocked up with plenty of fish bait to keep spawning those fish shadows until the big one shows up. Patience is key; the Mahi Mahi can be a tough catch but stick with it!

Tried for days with no luck. Anyone saying it's easy must be playing a different game.

Honestly, it's all RNG (random number generation). Sometimes you get lucky, other times you blow through 100 bait and nothing. Just keep trying at the pier during its season. Got mine after a few tries, so don’t give up!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
