Catching a shark in Animal Crossing City Folk is all about timing and patience. Wait until the summer months (June to September) when sharks are more likely to appear. Look for a fin sticking out of the water; that's your cue a shark is nearby. Cast your line so the bait lands in front of the fin. When the shark bites, you'll see a bigger splash than usual, and that's when you press the button. Timing is key, so be ready!

Don鈥檛 even bother. Sharks are more trouble than they鈥檙e worth. Stick to catching beetles, way easier and they sell for a lot too.

Honestly, it's a lot of luck. Keep an eye out for the fin and have your sound on; the bite sound is distinct. Good luck and happy fishing!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
