Honestly, catching a tuna is just a matter of luck and patience. Fish off the pier, use bait, and wait. The rest is up to the RNG gods.

Catching a tuna in Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn't too hard once you know the tricks! First, tunas are only available during certain months: November through April in the Northern Hemisphere and May through October in the Southern Hemisphere. They can only be caught off the pier, so don't waste your time fishing anywhere else. You're looking for a huge shadow in the water since tunas are one of the larger fish in the game. Using bait can really help to spawn fish faster, so stock up on it by digging for clams on the beach. Be patient, and keep an eye out for that big shadow!

Pro tip: Always fish with sound! The sound of a big fish nibbling is distinct. Helps a lot with those rarer catches like the tuna. Happy fishing!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!
