Catching bugs in Terraria is pretty simple but you gotta have the right tool for it. You'll need a Bug Net or better yet, a Golden Bug Net if you're lucky enough to get one. You can buy a Bug Net from the Merchant NPC for 25 silver coins. Once you have it, just swing it at any critters you find roaming around your world. Make sure to sneak up on them though, they can be skittish!
