How to Catch Sea Animals in Animal Crossing
CorrectingGait路8 months agoHonestly, I tried for ages and couldn't catch a single sea creature. Then I realized my timing was off. You gotta dive WHEN you're directly over the shadow. Also, some move fast - for those, anticipate their path, dive ahead of time, and wait for them to come to you. Game changer for me!

To catch sea animals in Animal Crossing, you gotta first grab yourself a wetsuit. You can buy one from the cabinet at Nook's Cranny or order it through the Nook Stop terminal in Resident Services. Once you're all suited up, just wade into the ocean and press A to start swimming. Look for dark shadows in the water, and when you're right above one, dive down by pressing Y. Swim close, and you'll automatically catch the critter! It's super chill and pretty fun, just like a real beach day minus the sunburn.
I'm gonna be real with you - just buy the creatures from someone else's island. Who has the time to swim around all day? Not me.
Pro tip: Make sure your pockets aren't full before you dive in. Nothing worse than finally catching that elusive sea creature only to remember you've got no room. Happened to me with a scallop, and Pascal was NOT amused.
Diving for sea creatures? It's all about that A button life. Equip your wetsuit, hit the water, and mash A to swim. See bubbles? Dive with Y and you're golden. Easy peasy ocean squeezy.
