If you're switching accounts on console, make sure you log out of your profile on your PlayStation or Xbox first. Then, log in with the credentials of the new War Thunder account. Simple as that!
Having been through this myself, I can tell you: logging out and logging back in is the way to go. Just be careful not to mix up your credentials!
