To change blocks in Tetris Battle, hold down the 'Hold' button while the desired piece is falling. You can swap it with the piece in the 'Hold' box or use it later!

Honestly, you can't really change blocks in Tetris Battle. Just swap with the 'Hold' button and hope for the best.
