Changing buddies is a breeze. Go to your profile, tap on your buddy's picture, and select 'Swap Buddies.' Pick your new buddy from there.

Tap your trainer's face at the bottom left of the screen, tap your buddy, tap 'Swap Buddy,' and choose a new one. It ain't rocket science!
