How to change character in Tales of Arise
Just press the D-pad during battle to switch the character you're controlling! Outside of battle, pop open the main menu and set your preferred character as the leader.

During combat, you can switch characters with the left or right D-pad buttons. Outside of combat, go to the main menu and change the party leader.
Are you in battle? Use the D-pad! If out of battle, hit up the main menu and make the switch there.
