Sometimes the easiest way is the best way: post your Story, then just use the editing tools to add a colorful overlay. Done and done!
To change the background color of your Instagram Story, just upload or take a photo, then click the draw icon (the squiggly line) at the top of the screen. After that, select your color and hold your finger on the screen until it fills with your chosen hue. Voila, you've got a colored background!
Make it unique by using Instagram's highlight feature to change colors. I do this all the time and it gives my Stories a fresh look!
